Expressive Arts Showcase

Tickets for the Expressive Arts Showcase on the 28th November go on sale from Monday 14th. Available from Mearns Academy reception. Adults £5.00 and Concession £3.00.

The Showcase will include Music, Dance & Drama performances, an Art exhibition and a Music Technologies display

Activity Days 2023

Activities Days will take place on Wed 31st May, Thurs 1st June and Fri 2nd June 2023 for all S1-S3 pupils. The following booklet contains the options available – 2023 activities booklet. Can you please complete the online form – https://forms.office.com/r/PcD7LE4RbA advising of your preferred choice(s) for your young person. The deadline for applications is Friday 7th October 2022.


Welcome to Mearns Academy

Mearns Academy is a six year, co-educational, comprehensive school which caters for a full range of courses, subject and abilities. The school is situated in Laurencekirk and has associated Primary Schools in seven surrounding villages. The school roll has risen over recent years and now stands at 681.

The area is probably most famous for its representation in the Lewis Grassic Gibbon trilogy, A Scots Quair. His most celebrated book, Sunset Song is contained in this compilation.

Mearns Academy places great emphasis on developing the personal and social skills and abilities of its pupils, as well as providing for a quality educational experience.
