Available from Mearns Academy reception from 8.30-4.30 Mon-Fri, payment by cash or cheque (payable to Mearns Academy) or online at (booking fee will be applied)

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

S1 Open Evening – 3rd October

Thursday 3rd October we will be holding an S1 Open Evening from 6pm to 8pm. The Open Evening is an opportunity for the parents/carers of S1 pupils to see subject classrooms, experience some aspects of the S1 curriculum and to meet staff. Please see our S1 Open Evening Parent letter for further details; copies have gone to pupils today.

Welcome to Mearns Academy

Mearns Academy is a six year, co-educational, comprehensive school which caters for a full range of courses, subject and abilities. The school is situated in Laurencekirk and has associated Primary Schools in seven surrounding villages. The school roll has risen over recent years and now stands at 683.

The area is probably most famous for its representation in the Lewis Grassic Gibbon trilogy, A Scots Quair. His most celebrated book, Sunset Song is contained in this compilation.

Mearns Academy places great emphasis on developing the personal and social skills and abilities of its pupils, as well as providing for a quality educational experience.
