Changes to our school day

New S1 Pupils – Plans for next week.
August 7th, 2020 at 3:18 pm

An outline of how next week will look for new S1 pupils is given in the attachment below.
Details on which tutor group each young person has been allocated will be sent via Groupcall before Wednesday.
There will also be staff and S6 helpers around on Wednesday should any pupil not have received these details.
Note: There is no PE timetabled for any S1 classes on Wednesdays so pupils do not need to pack PE kit and should arrive to school in school uniform.

Welcome to Mearns Academy

Mearns Academy is a six year, co-educational, comprehensive school which caters for a full range of courses, subject and abilities. The school is situated in Laurencekirk and has associated Primary Schools in seven surrounding villages. The school roll has risen over recent years and now stands at 715.

The area is probably most famous for its representation in the Lewis Grassic Gibbon trilogy, A Scots Quair. His most celebrated book, Sunset Song is contained in this compilation.

Mearns Academy places great emphasis on developing the personal and social skills and abilities of its pupils, as well as providing for a quality educational experience.
