School Uniform Update

As restrictions ease and we move into warmer weather we are now in a position to re-launch full school uniform for all pupils in S1-S6.

From study leave, Monday 25th April, the following expectations around school uniform will apply to all pupils:

S4-S6 Full school uniform expected for all SQA examinations / Full school uniform is also required when attending school during study leave for study support sessions

S1-S3 Full school uniform to be worn at all times / Pupils should bring with them a suitable change of clothes for PE lessons

Please see below our agreed school uniform:

  • White shirt
  • School tie*
  • Plain black sweatshirt or cardigan
  • Black trousers/skirt  (leggings/tracksuit bottoms are acceptable for PE but not for school uniform)
  • Black/brown shoes or completely black/brown trainers

*School Ties – we currently have 6 different versions of our school tie and we are in the process of streamlining and redesigning our school tie to be launched in June 2022.  Should any pupil require a current school tie between April – May, they should speak to their Guidance Teacher or Tutor Teacher.

Please also note:

  • A suitable change of clothing is required to attend PE lessons
  • Hoodies should not be worn in classrooms, assembly etc unless permission is given by a member of staff (permission will be given during Covid 19 when windows are open)
  • If sweatshirts or cardigans have logos on them these should be small and discreet
  • Jackets may be worn to move around the school but must be removed in class and at assemblies (permission will be given during Covid 19 when windows are open)
  • Denim or denim look jackets, denim or denim-look jeans/leggings/jeggings should not be worn as school uniform

We wanted to share this information with you now to allow time to purchase any required items prior to the 25th April.  Our Parent Council (MAPC) are also in the process of arranging a uniform swap shop with the aim of reducing waste and supporting the environment.  Further information on this will be shared next term.
