Christmas Jumper Day
We are holding a Christmas Jumper Day (wear something festive school such as a jumper, scarf, some socks or even a bit of tinsel) on Tuesday 21st December. Buckets for donations will be available in tutor classes and money raised will go to Save the Children.

Please can all students return the above forms to reception if they haven’t already done so. There may be some ‘lurking’ at the bottom of school bags.
Prelim Results
Prelims exams will be taking place up until the Christmas break. Results will be issued to pupils from Monday 10th January.
Covid 19
A letter was issued on Friday encouraging regular Lateral Flow Device testing. Further information has been received and will be issued today. Please see below:
Following updated advice from Test and Protect, we are now able to hand out test kits proactively to all staff and pupils, to enable them to test twice-weekly at home and help keep our school/setting safe. There is no longer a requirement for staff and pupils to “opt in” to the programme in order to receive or pick up test kits from school. This will bring the schools programme into line with arrangements in other testing programmes in society.
Our distribution centre will be located outside the English Department between 1.00pm and 1.45pm each day.
From Saturday 11th December, the advice is that all household contacts of any confirmed Covid case should isolate for 10 days regardless of vaccination status – even if they initially get a negative PCR test.

Christmas photography competition
This year, the Art department will be running a Christmas photography competition. House points will be awarded for all entries. Competition deadline is the 16th of December with the winning photograph being used as our Mearns Academy Christmas Card 2022.
