Happy New Year

Happy New Year to all parents/carers and our wider community.  I am delighted that we have been able to return to school at the start of 2022, although with the increase in Covid 19 cases across the country this will not be without its challenges.

Senior Phase Prelim Results

A letter has been issued with information on prelim results, feedback, tracking reports and parent evenings.

Parent Evening

S5/6 Parents’ Evening takes place next week (19th Jan).  Bookings open at 6pm on Wednesday 12th January.  Information on how to book etc. will be emailed to parents tomorrow.

Covid 19 Updates

We have been asked to share the following information:

NHS Grampian are now accepting drop ins for second doses for anyone aged 12-15.

Following the First Ministers update last week we have been advised that the new rules on isolation will not apply retrospectively.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

In recognition of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, the May Day holiday will be moved from Monday 2nd May to Thursday 2nd June 2022 while Friday 3rd June 2022 will be designated as an additional public holiday.

Staffing Update

Mr Ryan Goldie will be joining us at Mearns Academy from Monday 17th January as a Teacher of Physical Education.  Clare Leask has been successful and has been appointed to the role of Pupil Support Worker within Mearns Academy.

We wish both Ryan and Clare the very best of luck in their new posts.
